The resurgent DJ and producer heads for one of the world's most renowned outdoor venues this spring

Skrillex will play a five-hour set at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, USA on 29th April.

Tickets go on sale Friday 31st March at 9AM PT, 10AM MT, 11AM CT and 12PM ET.

First opened in 1941, the venue — formed from natural boulders — regularly ranks in lists of the world's best outdoor concert stages. Artists and acts such as The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Earth Wind & Fire, Depeche Mode, and Stevie Nicks are among the high profile names to have played there. This October, UK dance music veteran Carl Cox will use the setting for a hybrid live/DJ set.

News of Skrillex's performance comes amid a period of feverish activity for the producer and DJ, with two new albums — 'QUEST FOR FIRE' and Don't Get Too Close' — arriving since the new year. Singles from the records, including twin efforts with Swedish artist Bladee, 'Ceremony' and 'Real Spring' (the latter also featuring Yung Lean), 'Rumble' with Flowdan and Fred Again.. and the PinkPanthress and Trippie Red collaboration, 'Way Back', have all met critical acclaim.

Meanwhile, 'Baby Again..', a track with Four Tet and Fred Again.., was supported by headline-grabbing sets at New York's world-famous Madison Square Garden and an impromptu street party at Times Square. This wealth of new material will undoubtedly be heard during the Red Rocks show, with a press release signposting Skrillex's recent 'Quest for Fire Basement DJ Set' as a glimpse of what to expect on the night.
