Located in an old wooden building at 920 Washington Street, The Fountain Cafe is cozy (small) and does not take reservations, so plan on waiting if you arrive at prime time for dinner on a weekend. The decor is artsy and authentic with more attention given to the food than to the space. Finding it is easy... just find the actual fountain at the end of Taylor street at the foot of the stairs that ascend to Uptown and head up the hill to the third building on your right.
Our current favorites are the Roasted Walnut and Gorgonzola Pasta, which defines the term "rich" and is large enough to share and the Greek Pasta, which is created from similar ingredients as you would find in a greek salad, but also incredibly rich. We hear that there are devotees of the warm duck salad and the al dente risotto. We're committed to confirming this devotion ourselves. Bon appetit!
