A Great Washington Vacation
Thank you Natavar and Nita for helping us enjoy a wonderful week in Olympic National Park. At first Emily and I were a little nervous after we cancelled our lodging plans and reserved your camping gear because my wife Emily had never camped before. I’m glad to say that the trip went great. The camping gear was clean and easy to setup and use. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and more. I would definitely recommend this same trip to a friend or relative.
Day 1 & 2 - Lake Crescent (East Beach):
We hiked to Marymere Falls and up Mount Storm King, which was hard, but offered great views of Lake Crescent. We also rented a canoe and paddled around the lake a little. We loved the blue clear water of the lake. It was also nice to have showers available in the bathroom facilities at this campground.
Day 3 – Sol Duc Campground:
We hiked to Sol Duc falls and down Lover’s Lane part way. We wished we would have hiked farther on Lover’s Lane Trail because we missed seeing giant ferns that were head high.
Day 4 – Mora Campground:
Here we parked at Rialto Beach and hiked up to Hole in the Wall. This hike offered cool views of sea stacks and ocean life in tide pools along the way. I recommend using the overland trail to get a view from the top of Hole in the Wall Rock.
Day 5 – Kalaloch Campground:
Here we relaxed on Ruby Beach and stopped in at Big Cedar Tree on the way back to the campground. It was nice letting the sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep in the tent at night.
Day 6 & 7 – Heart O’ The Hills Campground:
Here we hiked part of Klahhane Ridge trail as well as the paved trails around the visitor center on day one. On day two we drove down to Obstruction Point and hiked Grand Lake trail, which offered great mountaintop views.
