Aluna announces new album, ‘MYCELiUM’, featuring Jayda G, TSHA, Chris Lake, more

The UK artist drafts talent from Panama, Brazil, France and South Africa for her second LP

Aluna MYCELiUM

Aluna has confirmed that her sophomore album, 'MYCELiUM', will arrive via Mad Decent on 7th July. You can listen to the latest single, 'Oh The Glamour' below, featuring Brazilian GRAMMY nominee Pabllo Vittar, GRAMMY and BRIT Awards nominee MNEK, and UK studio don Eden Prince.

Distilling her penchant for melding electronic, alternative, indie and pop sounds into a largely-analogue produced package, the full record welcomes a host of talent from across the globe. TSHA, Route94, Jayda G, Chris Lake, MK, Preditah, and Lauren Faith all make appearances, with Panama's Roofeeo, South African DJ, sound engineer and producer KOOLDRINK, and French duo Picard Brothers also on the credits.

"The Mycelium is the cell network seeped into the fabric of nature. I’m not talking about the bloom or the fruits. You need to lay the groundwork to see the fruit one day. I got burnt out from trying to work with powerful people who have lots of money and no actual genuine care for what I’m trying to do," Aluna said of the album.

"I realised there was no foundation where I was standing, and we have to build our own foundation. It’s not going to be all bells and whistles; it’s going to be substance," she continued. "So, I broke some barriers and started mentoring creative fans. I built a community of Black Ravers on Geneva and by joining groups on Instagram and social media. Now, the album is my community I’ve created.”

In support of the album, Aluna has an extensive US tour lined up for the coming months, including two dates at Brooklyn Mirage in June and two shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in September. You can find a complete schedule below.
